| Abstract |
Field studies were conducted to evaluate the effects of agronomic practices such as rice straw mulches, planting density and ditch depth on control of rape weeds. The results showed that the overall weed control effects of rice straw coverage were above 85% and significantly increased the light intensity in rape fields. Denser rape transplantation could enhance crop competitive ability and increase the weed control effects accordingly. Ditches changed the water conditions in rape fields, and greatly reduced the infestation of Malachium aquaticum, Alopecurus aequalis, Beckmannia syzigachne and other worst weeds. Besides the weed control effects, the agronomic practices increased the yield of rape and had marked economic and ecological benefits. |
