Abstract
Invasive alien species caused significant damage to natural ecosystem, agricultural production and human health throughout the world. Buffalobur (Solanum rostratum Dun.) was a noxious exotic weed with potential harm. It originated from North America and had the strong capability of propagation and adaptation. The distribution, bioecological characteristics, economic and ecological impacts and relevant management strategies of buffalobur were reviewed. Based on the bioecological characteristics, potential harm, difficulties to control and other factors, the risk value for buffalobur was 86 and considered as a quarantine pest with high risks. We should attach great importance to the invasion of buffalobur and took effective measures to control its infestation and overspread.
