Abstract
Field weed survey was conducted using an inverted W-pattern with 9 sampling points in Jianghan Plain. Of the 23 weed species recorded in wheat fields, 27% accounted for monocots and 69% for dicots. Based on the analysis of their relative abundance, catchweed (Galium aparine) and field speedwell (Veronica didyma) were the most abundant weeds in the area. It also showed that wildoat (Avena fatua) and elephant ear (Pinellia ternata) were becoming important weeds in the area
